Day Shift Werewolf is the creepy and comic winner of the 28th Annual International 3-Day Novel Contest. In this hilarious spin on the traditional horror genre, an unproductive werewolf, a claustrophobic mummy, a freewheeling zombie, a demon with a hidden human and other incompetent monsters struggle to find new truth in life on the dark side. Jan Underwood's first published novel is a genre-busting and unique piece of fiction, and a classic example of the kind of originality inspired by the 3-Day Novel Contest.
The 3-Day Novel Contest as an organization exists to run the world's most notorious literary marathon and to publish and promote the winning novel. The contest was previously run by a series of small publishing houses but in 2004 it left the nest and became an independent institution. The contest is managed by Barbara Zatyko, Publisher, in Toronto and Melissa Edwards, Managing Editor, in Vancouver, along with the generous help of numerous volunteers and supporters from the writing, publishing and arts communities.
